Baritone Ansgar Theis performs nationally and internationally as a soloist in concerts, recitals, and operas. He works with orchestras such as the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Concerto München, the Ensemble Musikfabrik, and the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, as well as ensembles such as the SWR Vocal Ensemble and the Berlin Radio Choir. The singer is characterized by his stylistic diversity and keen interest in unusual repertoire, including in the field of new music.

He was a scholarship holder of the German Stage Association, the Yehudi Menuhin – Live Music Now Munich Association, the Richard Wagner Association Munich, and the Episcopal Study Grant Cusanuswerk, and is a prize winner of the 2022 Federal Singing Competition in Berlin, among others. Ansgar Theis studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich and the August Everding Theater Academy with Christian Gerhaher, Lars Woldt, and Andreas Schmidt. In the 2025/26 season, he will appear as a soloist in the human requiem (a staged adaptation of Brahms' Requiem) with the Rundfunkchor Berlin in the Baltic States and Berlin.

He has been active in SCHOLA HEIDELBERG since 2022.
