Yasushi Inoue’s 1949 novel "The Hunting Gun" tells of conflicting emotions and hidden secrets. It reveals the loneliness of the hunter, whose hunting gun bears "the full weight deep in the soul and body of the lonely man" and radiates "a strange, bloodstained beauty." The first opera by Tyrolean composer and pianist Thomas Larcher, based on this bestseller, will be performed again in Amsterdam for the first time in the staging and cast of the 2018 Bregenz premiere, featuring SCHOLA HEIDELBERG.
