Since time began, humanity’s view of the cosmos has had a dual perspective: that of observation and that of projection. The oldest speculations of human inquiry have focused on the observable changes in the heavens, documented since the time of Pythagoras. Even in the pre-Socratic era, the same simple "harmonic" numerical ratios were used to describe the planets and their orbits as well as musical harmonies and intervals.
The next installment of the six-part concert series "Star Constellation: Human" will take place this evening at the Heidelberger Kunstverein.
Works by Casper Johannes Walter, Martin Messmer, and others.
